Our definition of a backup power is a system that provides electricity to critical loads or entire house when the utility power is not available.
Of the many types available we offer devices suitable for continuing the function of our GeoThermal and SolarThermal products in an emergency situation. To size the Backup system the two factors to consider are what devices you want to run while on backup power and the length of time you anticipate being without power.
Automated systems are usually implemented as whole house power sources. They commonly run self-diagnosis checks periodically and will automatically detect power loss and switch on to support the electrical systems you have chosen to be powered.
Manual systems are somewhat less sophisticated requiring you to make the switch over at the beginning of the power loss and after restoration.
